I’m Crossing a Finish Line and Cheering You On!
I see a finish line in my future and I’m very thankful! My book, I’m About to Get Up! is almost complete and I can finally see the finish line! And guess what?
I’m going to cross it!
Y’all, this has been 12 years in the making — as a weary traveler, let me just say that I’m breathing a sigh of relief at this amazing feat.
I’m feeling brave and I appreciate this accomplishment more than I ever could have before.
The hard years are in the past, finally a distant memory. Running the race and finishing the course is wonderful but I intend to do more than just that! I am standing at the finish line and cheering others on, to stay the course and finish well.
Be brave! Don’t look back and cross your finish line!
Here’s a Quick Recap
If you’re new to my journey (Welcome!), let me catch you up:
I’m a wife, mom, and Grammi. I’m a work-from-home mom who started a company, Smart Kids 101, 20 years ago.
We produce life skills DVD training for kids, namely Babysitting 101, Safe Kids 101 and Polite Kids 101 eCourses and Leader Kits. I’ve been a parenting blogger for five years and before that I wrote for a parenting column for Nashville’s largest newspaper, The Tennessean, as “The Virtual Mom.”
In February 2004 my world turned upside down when my husband of 22 years died in a horrific car crash. I was broken, hurting, and didn’t think I would make it through those dark years of grieving.
I was wrong. God delivered me from my pain and fear. He gave me a road out of suffering and encouraged me every day to GET UP and LIVE LIFE!
You Can Heal, Too
My heart is healing and I’m on a mission.
I want to glorify God by telling others how He got me up and out of the pit. I want others to experience the joy and freedom of knowing the enemy is defeated and death has no sting!
God is our first responder. He resuscitates dying hearts and breathes hope and life into those who can’t get through the long, dark night.
Join me in discovering how the goodness of our loving God can transform hearts by using tools of kindness and love.
Journey through life’s harrowing experiences like loss, pain, sickness, and depression and let’s find out how longing is fulfilled and beauty is found in these most interesting circumstances.
And let’s see how brokenness allows the light of God to shine through with true humility and grace.
